Back at Perona Farms for another amazing wedding with Jackie and Kevin. We did their first look across the street in their beautiful tree lined field. Perfect spot with great light for these two love birds.. Here are some previews:
Beautiful celebration at the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge with Brittany and Kevin. I haven’t shot here in years and being back, I quickly remembered why I like it so much.
So happy to share some photos from the wedding of Jennifer and Baturay. The couple, families, and friends were so welcoming, kind and fun - Best day and night at The Westmount Country Club.
Chloe and Brendan had a wonderful wedding day at the historic and elegant David’s Country Inn. The new patio space is the perfect backdrop of an intimate outdoor ceremony. Chloe and Brendan decided to take a little trip offsite to read their vows to each other in the scenic Stephens State park. It was beautiful and emotional, and I cannot tell you how much fun we had with them! Some previews of the day.
Some previews of Meghan and Chase’s beautiful “third times a charm” COVID postponed wedding. It was well worth the wait. Can’t wait to share more.
Aaisha + Jonathan
My favorite thing is laughing with couples I photograph. We can poke fun or discuss the awkwardness of having a big lens pointed in your face while you kiss. It lightens the mood and I think it makes everyone feel a little more comfortable. I cannot begin to explain funny Aaisha and Jonathan are. They are the perfect match and had me in stitches throughout their whole engagement shoot and wedding.
These two shared a winter wedding at Il Villagio, in Carlstadt, NJ. A perfect first look, tea ceremony and lots of dancing rounded out this awesome day. This was the last wedding we shot before the pandemic. Looking back at this sense of normalcy gave me a little anxiety, but its oddly comforting at the same time. Many years of happiness to you both.
Teena Marie reached out to me early on in her planning process and was just the sweetest bride to be ever. She seemed a little nervous, but confident in how awesome her big day would be.
Teena Marie and Lalo shared their first look at the Bartow-Pell Mansion in the Bronx. There was a pretty bad snowstorm that day, but when I asked them if they wanted outdoor photos, it was a resounding YES. Rain or snow on your wedding day does not mean your photos have to suffer. Had such a blast with these two.

Stone House Wedding photos with Nicole and Joe
Have I ever mentioned that I love winter weddings? I do. A lot. I can certainly understand that for people planning a wedding there are some added stress factors to the a winter event. Will there be a massive blizzard? Will there be subzero temps? How does one dress for such - Should we get 100% plan on an indoor wedding?
Nicole and Joe got married in January, so its safe to say that these stress factors were all present for them - but you definitely wouldn’t know it with their “go with the flow” attitudes. Nicole even said “I hope it snows.” Love that attitude. Unfortunately, it did not snow, in fact it was in the upper 50s AND they got married outside. How awesome is that. Stone House has a very cool overhang in the back of the building where they host ceremonies and it worked out so beautifully. At the end of the night, we even made our own snow picture. What a beautiful day shared with beautiful people. Thank you for having us along!
Meeting my couples for the first time at engagement shoot might seem a little nerve wracking for all parties, but it’s truly the best way for everyone to get to know each other. I learn about your love and your interaction with each other and you experience how I will guide your through your photos on your wedding day.
Chloe originally reached out about doing an engagement shoot at Skylands Manor. Unfortunately, the grounds are off limits for photography at this time, so we had to research other options. After bouncing a few back and forth she came up with Deep Cut Gardens. I have never been there before (and I love that because of the challenging aspects it presents) but I’ve heard great things from friends and colleagues about it being a peaceful place with surprises around every corner. The shoot went wonderfully, and Chloe and Brendan shined.. Sometimes literally, in the beautiful late day light. Planning a wedding during a pandemic must be stressful work, but I can tell Chloe and Brendan are taking it in stride and their wedding next year is going to be incredible!
Samantha and Shaun had a light-hearted, joyous wedding that the beautiful Senate Garage in Kingston, NY. They both live in California so the wedding planning must have been logistically challenging, but I am so glad they found us. From the first phone conversation with them, I was hoping we would get the nod to capture their special day. Their personalities are infectious - super kind and super funny. The day of the wedding was perfect. Samantha and Shaun did some long distance research on arranging some awesome classic cars to add to the historic backdrop of the town.
One of my many favorite features of Senate Garage is the record store that is nearly inside the venue. Steps away from the venue entrance we were able to take some fun shots with some cool records.
Thank you Samantha and Shaun for a wedding we won’t soon forget.
Yolanne and Daniel share a passion for family, adventure and fun. This super sweet couple were married at the beautiful St. Joseph’s Church in East Rutherford surrounded by their friends and family on such a perfect weather weekend.
The reception and fun continued at Waterside Restaurant and Catering in North Bergen. This was our first time at this venue and it did not disappoint. We got some great drone shots over the Hudson and some awesome landscape portraits throughout the late afternoon light and into the evening. Daniel surprised Yolanne with a beautiful song during the reception to set the tone for a night of dancing, great food, laughter and sharing in the beautiful memories they made. Wishing these two all the best life has to offer.
Melody and Dexter had a beautiful wedding at the Sussex Fairgrounds. Sussex Fairgrounds is such a uniquely perfect spot for a wedding, with its open fields, visually interesting interior space, a picturesque lake, and barns to boot. The other cool thing is that you are able to bring in all of your own flare for decorating. Melody and Dexter spearheaded this like pros. The place looked so good and it was so personal to them and their vision for their day. They nailed it.
Melody and Dexter are both dancers and spent the night doing what they love with who they love. Choreographed dancing, delicious cuisine, and the weather could not have been better. Mel and Dexter understand the creative process and gave us all the freedom to create interesting images telling their story. I can’t tell you how much that means to us. For our night shot, we did a long exposure of them dancing while Matt popped the flash a few times to freeze them in place. It is definitely one of my favorite images of 2019.
Melody and Dexter, thank you for your trust, and thank you for inviting us to the best night. You both are so amazing.
Another year of what doing what I love… documenting love. This job has brought me to so many amazing people and so many amazing places. We are in the industry of storytelling and this year we kept pushing ourselves to do that honestly, creatively and with care.
The computer told me we shot several hundred thousand images in 2019. Close to 300,000. That is a lot of clicks. Somehow, over the course of the past few weeks, I’ve narrowed that down to 1000, then to 600, then to 250, and finally to 152. These 152 images are only some of my favorites. There are simply too many for a blog post. Thank you to everyone involved in this crazy little studio for helping the wheels turn. Sincerest thank you to Jason, Matt, Chriz, Tiffany, Gerardo, Christina, Gary, George, John, Joe, Kevin, Garret, Dan and Aytek for your hard work, creativity and coffee. Thank you to all of the couples for the trust.. Acceptance speech = done. Feeling very grateful right now. Hope you enjoy the images:
Weddings season gets pretty hectic, so we don’t always have the chance to share ALL the amazing people, places and moments we have been able to capture. Here is a brief update on what we’ve been up to. Please check back fro more blog posts, which will multiply in the coming weeks!
Erin reached out to me about shooting her wedding party about a year ago and explained her and Andrew were adventurous couple who loved life and all it’s offerings. Two laid back, life loving adventure partners sounded like JUST the couple I wanted to get involved with.
The two of them wed in Sri Lanka on the beach with natives watching but wanted to share their love with their families back home, so they planned a good old fashion party at a campground. Cold canned beer: check. Vegan food trucks: check. Lawn and table games: check.
The party was held at the Egg Harbor campground, and was a truly great vision come to life for these two extraordinary people. We took a little photo walk in the woods, faked some sun with magmod, and got a real sunset later on!
Wishing you guys a lifetime of adventures!
